Jonathan Kreisberg - Autumn in New York

It was Autumn in New York that first got me hooked on jazz guitar - in a performance by Tal Farlow shown on Channel 4 in the early Eighties. This live performance by Jonathan Kreisberg, a talented and tasteful NY guitarist, brings the tune right up to date. I love the digital delay echoing the first phrase of the tune, the full sound blossoming from the Trio and the general vibe.

Hi, I was wondering what your day job was.. why don't/didn't you choose to be a full time musician? thanks

There's a question! I love jazz but at the time I was getting into it (early Eighties) it wasn't that popular and I couldn't see it as a career choice. Nowadays I have a reasonably interesting job (helping run a training business) that pays the bills and feeds a large family. I'm lucky that I still get to play live regularly too - sometimes more often than friends who are full time musicians. That said, I still occasionally dream of being thrust onto the world stage - international jazz festivals, major record deal etc. Ho hum . . .
